Where: South Bend, IN
Hours: 1st shift | Status: Full-time
Pay: $100k–$140k

Is this you?- Do you transform requirements and standards into clear, feasible design criteria?
- Can you move from napkin sketch to robust CAD model—and document every decision?
- Do you lead milestone reviews that keep projects on time and on spec?
- Are your BOMs complete, accurate, and production-ready?
- Do you rely on CAE/CFD to validate thermal/flow/structural performance before metal is cut?
- Can you create unambiguous drawings that machinists trust?
- Do you collaborate closely with machine shops to protect design intent?
- Are you comfortable supporting builds and resolving issues on the floor?
- Can you produce schematics that communicate mech–electrical interfaces at a glance?
- Do you partner with vendors to integrate the right technologies at acceptable cost and timing?
- Requirements analysis against customer expectations and industry norms.
- End-to-end design: concept development, CAD, and documentation control.
- Structured design reviews to manage deliverables and de-risk schedules.
- Accurate BOM creation and maintenance.
- Virtual validation through CAE and CFD, plus targeted testing.
- Release of detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Shop collaboration to ensure manufacturability and quality.
- Post-manufacturing and assembly support.
- Mechanical/electrical schematic development for clear interfaces.
- Vendor engagement for technology selection and problem-solving.
- BS or MS in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (or related).
- 5+ years in design, development, and product release.
- Expertise in CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
- Proficiency in CAE/CFD with a track record of performance optimization.
- Strong structural design foundation.
- Six Sigma certification preferred; PE preferred; PMP a plus.
- Familiarity with 3D printing/additive manufacturing.
- History of workflow optimization and accelerating time-to-market.
- Experience leading cross-functional efforts with engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
