Position Overview

This role combines front-desk medical reception responsibilities with optical dispensing and patient education. Cross-training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Reception / Front Desk

• Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner
• Schedule appointments and manage multi-provider calendars
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays
• Answer phones, route calls, and respond to patient inquiries
• Scan and maintain accurate patient records in the EHR system
• Coordinate referrals and obtain authorizations as needed

Optician / Optical Support

• Assist patients with frame and lens selection
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and eyewear benefits
• Measure, fit, adjust, and dispense eyewear
• Enter optical orders accurately and follow up on pending jobs
• Troubleshoot patient concerns related to glasses and contact lenses
• Maintain a clean, organized optical area

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in a medical office, optometry, ophthalmology, or optical setting (preferred but not required)
• Optical experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills and comfort learning new software
• Professional appearance and positive attitude

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position
• Daytime hours (no evenings or major holidays)
