Mechanical Engineer – Serviceability

Overview

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead
Design for Serviceability (DFS)
initiatives. This role focuses on evaluating product designs for
service access, ergonomics, tooling feasibility, and maintainability
, while driving improvements that reduce
cost, time, and repair complexity
. You will collaborate cross-functionally and support field evaluations to enhance overall service performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive
  Design for Serviceability (DFS)
  across product development.
• Evaluate assemblies for
  hand/tool clearance, service access, ergonomics, and replacement feasibility
  .
• Develop service part release strategy and maintain
  Service BOM
  for spare parts planning.
• Support integration of mechanical and electromechanical components.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams during builds and design iterations.
• Identify specialized tooling needs and support tooling design/development efforts.
• Contribute to service-related requirements for
  availability and reliability
  .
• Provide cost/time models to support design improvements and repair simplification.
• Partner with technical writing teams to define repair processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4–6 years of engineering experience
• Experience in product design and manufacturing environments
• Full product lifecycle development experience
• Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes
• Experience with
  product/process validation
• Tooling or equipment design experience
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in
  3D CAD
  (CATIA preferred)
• Ability to work independently and manage projects
