Sign Painter

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sign Painter / Paint Booth Operator to join our team. This role involves creating high-quality signage and operating paint booths efficiently to meet production standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting techniques, construction-related skills, and a strong understanding of safety protocols on the job site. Duties

• Prepare surfaces and materials for painting, including sanding, caulking, and priming.
• Operate paint booths and spray equipment such as airless paint sprayers with precision.
• Apply paint, stains, and finishes to signage and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute designs.
• Measure and estimate materials needed for projects, utilizing basic math skills.
• Perform surface preparation tasks including plastering, stucco application, and masonry work as needed.
• Conduct maintenance on painting equipment and ensure proper calibration of spray systems.
• Follow safety procedures related to industrial painting, handling hazardous materials, and working with power tools.
• Assist with renovation projects involving carpentry, trim work, fixture installation, or restoration efforts.
• Collaborate with team members on construction site projects requiring knowledge of schematics and construction estimating.

Skills

• Proficiency in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematics interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of color theory applicable to signage and decorative finishes.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, brushes, rollers, and power tools.
• Familiarity with industrial painting techniques.
• Knowledge of various construction trades such as carpentry (trim framing), masonry (concrete finishing), plastering, stucco application, welding basics, and masonry work.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
• Basic math skills for measurements and estimations related to project planning.
• Handyman experience or background in renovation projects is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship while adhering to safety standards.
