Award-winning architecture firm that is reputably one of the best places to work in Los Angeles & San Diego, earning California's Design Firm of the Year, is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join their growing San Diego studio.
 
Over 30 years of practice, this 150 person-firm is nationally recognized in programming, planning + design for the healthcare, science & technology, higher education, K-12, and civic sectors. The firm's expertise includes transformative projects for schools of medicine and the health professions, advanced research and teaching laboratories, leading-edge museums and civic landmarks, tech-offices, and innovative clinical facilities on higher ed, healthcare and urban campuses. The team is actively seeking talented Senior Architects with a passion and expertise in institutional project types.
Candidates should have the following skill-set:
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment

  • Proficiency with technical detailing and documentation

  • Strong design and graphic sensibility

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Creative problem solving

  • Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills

  • Ability to lead and mentor others in technical execution of projects

  • Experience and knowledge in the following:

    • Building codes and agency requirements (OSHPD, DSA, etc.)

    • Building Engineering Systems and coordination with consultants

    • Working with contractors/trades in collaborative delivery

    • Development and QA/QC of contract documentation (drawings and specifications


Qualifications


Preferred candidates will have:

  • Minimum of 12 years' experience within the design and construction industry

  • Prior Higher Education, Science & Technology and institutional project experience strongly preferred

  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Architecture required

  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM production required

  • Professional license within the State of California strongly preferred

  • LEED certification preferred
