Job Requirements
Position Summary
The Athletic Training Resident renders service or treatment under the direction of a physician including prevention, immediate care, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, rehabilitation and reconditioning, administration and organization relating to athletic injury or illness. He/she coordinates Athletic Training coverage for community-based events. He/she is responsible for coverage and care of athletes as assigned by the Sports Medicine Institute Manager. He/she participates in community events/presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager, or director.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- BS in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited athletic training program
Experience:
- N/A
Licenses/Registrations/ Certifications
- BOC Certification
- CPR-AHA BLS
- SC Athletic Training Certification or eligible - Must obtain within 60 days of employment

- MS in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited athletic training program

- Provides outreach services to professional & non-professional organized athletic clubs, teams & schools.
- Completes timely and accurate documentation and billing according to practice standards.
- Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Adjusts work scheduled to meet the needs of assigned school/customer.
- Attends departmental and hospital committees and meetings.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Actively participates in residency program and completes all assignments.
