Job Requirements

Position Summary

The Athletic Training Resident renders service or treatment under the direction of a physician including prevention, immediate care, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, rehabilitation and reconditioning, administration and organization relating to athletic injury or illness. He/she coordinates Athletic Training coverage for community-based events. He/she is responsible for coverage and care of athletes as assigned by the Sports Medicine Institute Manager. He/she participates in community events/presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager, or director.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • BS in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited athletic training program

Experience:

  • N/A

Licenses/Registrations/ Certifications

  • BOC Certification
  • CPR-AHA BLS
  • SC Athletic Training Certification or eligible - Must obtain within 60 days of employment

Preferred Requirements

Preferred Education

  • MS in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited athletic training program

  • N/A

  • Provides outreach services to professional & non-professional organized athletic clubs, teams & schools.
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation and billing according to practice standards.
  • Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Adjusts work scheduled to meet the needs of assigned school/customer.
  • Attends departmental and hospital committees and meetings.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Actively participates in residency program and completes all assignments.
