Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include:
Analyzing user requirements to derive software and system performance needs Designing, coding, and debugging complex software solutions using languages like Java, Python, C/C++, and Shell Integrating COTS, GOTS, OSS, and newly developed software into secure, high-performance systems Writing and maintaining technical documentation (e.g., process flows, system architecture, training guides) Performing Linux system operations, package management, and system administration Utilizing scripting languages (Shell, Bash, Python) to automate workflows and infrastructure tasks Developing and supporting relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) Leveraging DevOps and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Git for version control Deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker in Linux production environments Supporting installation, configuration, and sustainment of large data processing frameworks Collaborating cross-functionally with system engineers, data scientists, and developers to drive mission success Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a US Citizen Must have a Top-Secret clearance with FS Polygraph Candidates must meet one of the following:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline + 5 years of experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline + 7 years of experience 9 years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar environments Required Skills:
Strong development experience in Java and Python Proficiency in Linux CLI and scripting (Bash, Shell) Experience with Git and GitLab CI for source control and CI/CD Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible) Familiarity with SQL technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) Experience with Docker containerization and Linux-based deployment Understanding of data formats such as JSON, XML, CSV, TCLD, and Parquet Hands-on experience with software integration, configuration, and system troubleshooting Ability to install and support analytic frameworks and data pipelines in HPC or cloud environments Desired Qualifications:
Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence) Familiarity with Agile software development practices Knowledge of GPU acceleration tools (e.g., PyTorch) Experience with large Accumulo deployments in Linux environments Exposure to HPC workload managers like Slurm Understanding of ML frameworks like Hugging Face Compensation Range: $215,000.00 - $247,000.00 *The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
