The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Enablement organization at Meraki supports our Continuous Integration (CI) Platforms, Developer Environments, tools, automation, and processes to enhance the daily work of our developers. We cover the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), providing essential developer tools and environments, build tools, code review, artifact management, CI, education, and documentation. Our primary clients are all engineers at Meraki. As a Software Engineering Leader, you will spearhead the architecture, build, and evolution of the developer experience for Meraki's Cloud Engineering teams. Collaborating with a distributed team across the US and UK, you will work closely with various teams in SRE and Cloud Engineering. Your strategic decisions will have a significant impact on the daily operations of Meraki's cloud, empowering our engineers to safely and confidently innovate and develop outstanding products! Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and continuous improvement of critical infrastructure required for building, testing, and deploying our cloud applications.
Take charge of resolving complex problems and debugging both internal and vendor-supplied tools.
Influence and enhance operational excellence within the organization.
Gain insight into the priorities and practices of other engineering teams to create systems that cater to their needs.
Engage in cross-functional initiatives with Cloud Engineering and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
Commit to sustainable incident response practices through on-call rotations and blameless postmortems.
You Are an Ideal Candidate If You: Possess a software development background with over 5 years of experience coding in languages such as Ruby or Python.
Quickly adapt and immerse yourself in new or unfamiliar technologies, enjoying the challenge of working with diverse tools.
Have a passion for mentoring other specialists and maintaining high standards within the team.
Are committed to managing highly resilient and scalable systems with an owner/operator mindset.
Adopt industry best practices focused on configuration-as-code and automation.
Have practical experience with modern Unix/Linux operating systems/distributions.
Bonus Points If You Have: Experience with hybrid cloud environments, including deployments on bare metal, container orchestration, and managed cloud services.
A background in building and supporting tools for a rapidly growing engineering organization (over 1200 employees and expanding).
Familiarity with containerization technologies.
Knowledge of DORA and SPACE published DevOps measurement metrics.

Message for Applicants in the U.S. and Canada: The starting salary range for this position is $163,600.00 to $234,600.00, reflecting the anticipated salary range for new hires, exclusive of incentive compensation, equity, or benefits.
