As the Manager of Data & Analytics Engineering for Commercial Operations, you will play a critical role in designing and constructing data pipelines that empower our analytics team. Your expertise will ensure that our team has access to enriched data to generate vital business insights. Collaborating closely with AI engineers, you'll also help build data pipelines tailored for AI initiatives. This exciting position is based onsite at our Irvine, CA HQ. How You'll Make an Impact: Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for seamless data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across cloud data platforms.
Adhere to best practices for source code control, documentation, and data governance to ensure high-quality standards.
Implement comprehensive data quality checks and manage metadata effectively.
Automate workflows to improve reliability, scalability, and observability.
Design data products such as forecasting models, account insights, and executive dashboards for informed decision-making.
Maintain semantic layers and clear metric definitions to enhance consistency and usability across teams.
Publish governed datasets for BI tools and design impactful dashboards and KPI packs.
Empower self-service analytics through well-documented, reusable data assets.
Collaborate with stakeholders to establish metrics and visualization standards.
Prepare data for AI use cases, focusing on semantic models and enriched governance.
Establish governance frameworks for safe AI integration.
Collaborate on enriching AI-driven analytics, including natural language querying of governed datasets.
Work with AI/ML engineers to provide machine learning-ready features and support AI use cases that enhance insights and productivity.
Build and maintain strong partnerships across teams to fully understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Partner with IT to implement technical solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and integration protocols.
Bring a proactive, inquisitive attitude to the team, identifying opportunities for process improvements and driving innovation.
What You'll Need (Required): Bachelor's degree in a related field with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
Clinical experience in fields such as cardiology is a plus.
What We Value (Preferred): Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling.
Experience with data lake, data mesh, and data-as-product concepts.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS stack, Databricks/Snowflake), transformation tools (dbt, AWS Glue, Fivetran), and source code management tools (Git).
Experience working with BI and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Thoughtspot).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with relationship management abilities.
Strong understanding of sales and commercial workflows.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Professional interpersonal skills and the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
Able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Collaborative team player who interacts with various stakeholders.
Commitment to adhering to company policies, including health and safety protocols.
At Edwards, we align our business objectives with employee performance, offering competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a diverse array of benefits to meet individual needs. The base pay range for this position in California is $121,000 to $171,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role requires COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment for patient-facing positions, with accommodations available for medical or religious exemptions.
