People Operations & Experience Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
Work Location: Wallenstein, ON (Hybrid)
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000
Earthscape builds playgrounds that invite people into imagination, movement, and connection. We think work should feel like that too. We're growing and we're investing in the experience of working here just as intentionally as we invest in the experience of playing in what we build.
We're looking for the engine of our People & Performance team - someone who loves building great programs, creating culture people can actually feel, and driving follow-through like it's your superpower.
As our People Operations & Experience Specialist, you will ensure our systems are seamless, our recruitment reflects the quality of our craft, and our foundations are strong enough to sustain our most ambitious work.
What You'll Own
Recruitment & the talent engine
- Own recruitment from start to finish - drafting postings that stand out, liaising with external recruiters to source talent that fits our unique culture, and managing a high quality candidate pipeline
- Maintain and optimize our core systems (Breezy, Google Drive, Acumatica, and our 2027 HRIS roadmap)
- Help leaders think clearly about resourcing and capability, ensuring we hire for both skill and spirit
Onboarding that feels like Earthscape
- Design and deliver an onboarding experience people rave about. You'll own the journey from start to finish, ensuring the 30/60/90-dayexperience leaves people feeling clear, connected and set up for success.
- Make transitions feel thoughtful and human. You'll keep onboarding programs aligned with our core people systems so the experience is consistent, not chaotic
Learning that actually lands
- Design and run seminars, workshops, and development moments that actually change how we work
- Coordinate coaching and performance growth initiatives. When gaps show up, you'll source external resources and targeted interventions (think: DISC, feedback training, consistency tools, team resets) to make learning stick.
Culture and recognition people can feel
- Own our culture programs, rituals, and celebrations. You'll lead recognition and belonging efforts that feel simple, genuine, and consistent
- Plan engagement and culture events that don't feel forced, bringing values to life in visible, practical ways
Projects with momentum (and follow-through)
- Lead People & Performance projects with crisp plans, clear timelines, and shared accountability. You are the person who ensures initiatives land and stick
- Coordinate Play Meetings and system-wide People & Performance communications
- Help roll out changes so that they become action, not just an announcement
You might be the one if…
- You love building programs and making them real. You don't just fix a problem; you build a system so it doesn't happen again
- You're organized in a way that makes other people calmer. You can take a complex policy and turn it into a simple, readable guide or helpful toolkit for a busy manager
- You're a "follow-through" person, people trust you because when you say it's going to happen, it happens
- You can work with leaders and hold a line (kindly) on deadlines and commitments
- You enjoy being "on stage" occasionally, whether leading an orientation or facilitating an event or activity
- You care deeply about how people experience work. You can hold multiple projects without dropping the human thread.
What's in it for you?
This job will offer you the opportunity to work on some of North America's most innovative playground projects. The pace, challenges and problem-solving opportunities will mean you are never bored. You will have the chance to develop and refine a wide variety of skills in our rapidly growing business. Your colleagues are dynamic, and highly skilled. They have an impressive range of backgrounds, skills and expertise.
We believe in great compensation for great employees, and we reward our staff with a combination of:
- Profit sharing and performance bonuses
- Employee share ownership opportunities (ESOP) after 1 year of service
- Six-week sabbatical after 14,000 hours worked

- Flex time with options to work remotely to support work-life balance
- Company events
- Casual dress code
Accommodation: We are committed to treating all people in a way that respects their dignity and independence. Should you require any accommodation during the recruitment process or otherwise, please notify us of this when you apply, and we will work with you to meet your accessibility needs.

These could include: work references, education and credential confirmation, employment verification, identity check, criminal offense and driver's license record.
At Earthscape Play, we are committed to building an environment where everyone feels included, valued, and heard. Diversity, inclusion, and belonging are an important part of our everyday work, and it is our belief that they enable us to reach our goal of bringing incredible play spaces to life.
