The Program Support – Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine Clinic (RAAM) will assist within the scope of defined duties an inter-disciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, counsellors, and other staff in the provision of substance use and addiction related services to clients.
The Program Support – Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine Clinic (RAAM) will work at various points of access including the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic, the Mental Health and Addictions Crisis Centre and supervised consumption sites.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
- What you'll be making - $ $29.08 per hour (Program Support II Grid).
- The above are initial rates; with grid increases as per policy
- Internal staff members will be placed on the appropriate grid based on their current rate of pay, up to Level 8 of the grid (see Intranet Policy - )
- Premiums of $2.00 will be applied for eligible Evening/Night and Weekend Shifts
- When you'll work – Casual shifts Monday-Friday, availability for more regular work on the clinic's peak days of Monday and Thursday will be required
- Your pension plan –Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
- Adhere to the core values and policies of the organization

- Participate in the bio-psycho-social approach to patient care providing support using Motivational Interviewing
- Employ safe work practices at all times
- Maintain a professional manner at all times in the performance of dutie
- Greet and direct clients to appropriate resources and / or services
- Provide reception both in person and via phone as required
- Handle correspondence, including: email, fax and mail as required
- Assist with client referrals
- Update, maintain and ensure accuracy of client information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Assist with analyzing data and relevant information to: compose reports, compile statistics, and prepare correspondence and agendas
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and materials and order as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Provide basic health and personal care for clients as required
- Monitor clients receiving substitution therapies
- Participate in the implementation of care/treatment plans as directed
- Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse as directed
- Collect specimens for testing, e.g. urine drug testing
- Train clients in the administration of Naloxone
- Maintain inventory of supplies including cleaning and sterilization of equipment
- Follow universal precautions while performing all duties
- Follow security procedures at the beginning and end of clinics
- Perform other procedures as directed by members of the team
- Complete required documentation related to client as per organization standards, discipline-specific guidelines and standards and PHIPA legislation
- Ensure that confidential program/caseload information and material is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and organization policy
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:
Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.
We require the following qualifications:
- Graduate of a post-secondary administrative program or human services program or equivalent (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
- Current, satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- Current Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle with adequate insurance to carry out job duties
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
We prefer the following qualifications:
- Training to administer Naloxone
- First Aid & CPR, WHMIS Training
- Medical office administration experience
- Capacity and comfort level dealing with street-involved individuals who may exhibit behaviours consistent with their distress, intoxication or other circumstances
- Experience working with individuals with mental health/addiction needs
- Experience with EMRs required including knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience in crisis resolution
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information
