Our team of technical experts and strategic consultants provide innovative, data-driven solutions across the mining project lifecycle—from exploration to operations to closure. As a nimble and specialized firm, we pride ourselves on delivering practical insight, expert analysis, and enduring value to our clients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with deep exposure to mining projects and operations, including capital projects, site procurement, and contractor-driven environments. This role will play a critical part in managing procurement packages from RFx through contract award, supporting both study-phase and operating mine environments.

The successful candidate will be highly commercial, process-driven, and comfortable working alongside technical, engineering, site, and executive teams.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Contracting

  • Manage procurement activities for major CAPEX and OPEX packages across mining projects and operating sites

  • Lead RFx processes (EOI, RFP, RFQ) from initiation through evaluation, negotiation, and award

  • Prepare and manage procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets

  • Develop and administer contracts, MSAs, and service agreements

  • Support contract negotiations, change orders, and ongoing contract administration

Bid Evaluation & Governance

  • Design and implement multi-criteria bid evaluation matrices

  • Ensure procurement activities are fair, transparent, and auditable

  • Coordinate internal technical and commercial reviews

  • Work closely with legal teams on terms & conditions and risk mitigation

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers

  • Collaborate with engineering, technical services, site teams, and project controls

  • Support Indigenous and local supplier engagement strategies where applicable

  • Manage contractor communications throughout procurement cycles

Systems, Process & Reporting

  • Manage procurement activities within ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar)

  • Track procurement packages using structured reporting tools and dashboards

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency

  • Maintain procurement documentation and records for compliance and reporting

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably within mining, EPCM, or heavy industrial projects

  • Proven experience managing large, complex procurement packages in project environments

  • Strong understanding of contracting strategies, tendering, and bid evaluation

  • Experience supporting studies (PEA, PFS, FS) and/or operating mine environments

  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and remote sites

  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
  • SCMP designation or equivalent professional supply chain certification

  • Experience working with mining contractors, OEMs, and engineering firms

  • Exposure to Indigenous procurement and partnership frameworks

  • Background in mining project controls, scheduling, or estimating

  • Experience in Canadian mining projects (remote or northern operations an asset)

What Success Looks Like
  • Procurement packages are delivered on time, on budget, and with strong commercial outcomes

  • Procurement cycle times are reduced through structured processes and clear governance

  • Stakeholders view procurement as a value-adding partner, not a bottleneck

  • Vendors experience fair, professional, and well-managed procurement processes

  • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
