Our San Francisco, California facility is seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments. This role is pivotal to our logistics operations, ensuring products are dispatched accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining comprehensive shipping records. Attention to detail and a solid understanding of shipping protocols are crucial.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments for all transport modes.
- Verify shipping orders against packed items for accuracy before dispatch.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickup appointments with domestic and international carriers.
- Ensure all shipments are packaged securely and correctly labeled.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and update the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Liaise with internal departments and external logistics partners regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping dock area.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role is strongly desired.
- Proficiency with shipping software and WMS.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including occasional moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices in logistics.
- Dedication to Safety and compliance with all procedures.
