We are looking for an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched in a timely manner. Your attention to detail is crucial for maintaining order accuracy and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to ensure the smooth flow of goods from our facility to their destinations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments by verifying order details and product counts.
- Package items securely and accurately, ensuring they are ready for transit.
- Generate and affix shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading).
- Coordinate with carriers for shipment pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update tracking information in the system.
- Inspect outgoing goods for quality and accuracy before dispatch.
- Assist with loading outbound trucks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all logistics and shipping regulations.
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
- Perform tasks involving moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform lifting duties as required.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures and logistics best practices.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE correctly.
