Responsibilities
- Prepare, dispense, and label medications accurately under pharmacist supervision, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations
- Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and medication reconciliation processes to ensure proper stock levels and medication safety
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting patient care initiatives
- Maintain precise documentation of medication administration, intake records, and pharmacy logs in compliance with hospital protocols
- Support critical care teams by understanding medical terminology, assisting with medication distribution in acute care settings, and ensuring timely delivery of medications
- Follow aseptic techniques rigorously during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination or infection risks
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy plans and ensure seamless patient care transitions
Skills
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management processes
- Experience working in LTC pharmacy is a bonus. On the job training available.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and support patient needs
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care excellence with attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
- Ability to work well with others as a team member.
