Part Time Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative support, making it essential for the candidate to be both detail-oriented and personable.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and effective four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for patient treatments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as necessary.
• Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
• Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits.
• Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for managing patient records and billing processes.
• Provide education to patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
• Assist with medical coding for insurance claims processing as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with dental procedures in general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using 3D scanners and other modern dental technology is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in both clinical tasks and administrative duties.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring is beneficial but not mandatory.
