About Us

NOVA ViA Glendale LLC and its affiliated Nova Via DX LLC, Tucson are committed to offering holistic, integrative outpatient behavioral health services, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). We strive to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals facing substance use disorders and other behavioral health challenges. Our interdisciplinary team—which includes therapists, counselors, nurses, medical professionals, and administrative staff—works together to enhance patient outcomes and facilitate long-term recovery.

We are seeking a Clinical Director to join our dedicated staff. This role involves direct patient care, documentation, and collaboration with clinical teams to help ensure a safe, supportive environment for our patients.

Job Summary

The Clinical Director leads the clinical teams, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care for substance use disorder patients; responsibilities include staff supervision, treatment program development (often trauma-informed), regulatory compliance (state / federal), quality assurance, budget management, patient advocacy, and overseeing operations like intakes, assessments, and crisis management in a fast-paced acute setting.

Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Director:

The Clinical Director balances high-level administration with clinical oversight:

  • Clinical Supervision: Provide mandatory clinical oversight to all Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) and Technicians (BHTs). This includes ensuring all staff meet their required supervision hours for licensure.
  • Program Development: Design and implement evidence-based treatment curriculums, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Informed Care, specifically adapted for the acute detox phase.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all clinical documentation (assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes) meets the standards of ADHS (Arizona Department of Health Services) and accrediting bodies like The Joint Commission (TJC) or CARF.
  • Quality Management: Lead the facility's Quality Improvement (QI) committee, analyzing patient outcomes and incident reports to improve safety and efficacy.
  • Crisis Leadership: Serve as the final point of escalation for high-acuity behavioral crises, such as patients experiencing severe drug-induced psychosis or suicidal ideation.

Mandatory Qualifications

To hold this title in Arizona, you must meet specific educational and licensing criteria:

  • Education: A Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Independent Licensure: You must hold a current, unrestricted Independent License from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE). Eligible licenses include:
  • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
  • LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
  • LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
  • LISAC (Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor)
  • Fingerprint Clearance: A valid Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).
  • Experience: Most Tucson facilities require a minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a substance abuse or inpatient setting.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • ASAM Criteria: Mastery of the American Society of Addiction Medicine levels of care to ensure patients are correctly admitted to an "acute" (Level 3.7/4.0) setting.
  • Medicaid/AHCCCS Knowledge: Familiarity with Arizona's Medicaid system (AHCCCS) and its billing/documentation requirements.
  • Bilingual Proficiency: In Tucson, the ability to speak Spanish is highly preferred and often leads to higher salary offers due to the local patient population.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Impactful Work: Contribute to behavioral health and integrative care programs that empower patients on their path to recovery.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals who value empathy, innovation, and evidence-based practices.
