Veterinary Assistant/RVT

Urgent Veterinary Care of Santa Barbara is seeking a full time, experienced veterinary assistant or experienced RVT to join our team.

The hospital is owned by Dr. Addie Crawford who was born and raised in Santa Barbara and has worked emergency in the area for the past 7 years. We are conveniently located on De La Vina across from Handlebar Coffee. Our hospital is brand new with the latest equipment. We are Santa Barbara's first veterinary urgent care and are looking to put together a fantastic team to deliver high quality medicine to our local community. Candidates for this position must be able to lift 40lbs and be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Candidates for this position must have a minimum of 2 years prior veterinary experience.

Candidates duties include but are not limited to:

· Animal restraint and handling

· Patient nursing care

· Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy setup

· Administering IV, IM, and SQ injections

· Anesthesia monitoring

· Pharmacy work

· Laboratory work

· Digital radiography

· Surgical prep/assisting/recovery

· Communicating and interacting with clients and their pets

· Basic hospital cleaning and restocking

· Basic reception work

· Basic record input

Pay depends on experience: $25 – 35 per hour
