A Chance To Grow (ACTG) is a mission-driven, non-profit based in Northeast Minneapolis. Since 1983, we've been empowering children and adults to reach their fullest potential through innovative, brain-based programs. Our dedicated team delivers life-changing services in the areas of therapy, education, and care – helping thousands of children with developmental disabilities, families and teen parents, educators, child care providers, and adults with special needs across the Twin Cities and beyond.

We are currently looking for a Teacher's Aide - Floater to become part of a hard-working, highly dedicated team of teachers This role is perfect for someone excited to learn, grow, and be involved in all areas of a childcare center environment with built-in variety that keeps each day engaging and rewarding

Turnquist Child Enrichment Center, a program of ACTG is a 4-Star Parent Aware, Strong Beginnings, National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accredited Child Care Center.

Position type: Full-Time

Classroom : Float between four different classrooms; Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, and Pre-K ages. Perform some additional duties outside of a classroom environment as well.

Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, and after school activities once a month.

Starting Pay range: $ $19.50 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Location: ACTG is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis close to public transit and freeways, downtown, retail, restaurants, and walking trails.

Description of responsibilities:

  • Assists in covering classrooms for breaks, meetings, field trips, and in maintaining staff to student ratios in 4 different classrooms
  • Maintains the safety measures and cleanliness task list
  • Helps plan special events with admin team
  • Provides food service backup

Experience/Education:

  • This is an entry level childcare position
  • Some college credit in education, psychology, human services, art, multicultural studies or any related fields (Preferred)
  • Experience working with children with special needs (Preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience working or volunteering as a Teacher's Aide, Assistant Teacher, Teacher, or Paraprofessional in a daycare, school, or early childhood center (Preferred)

Skills:

  • Flexibility in daily schedule
  • Basic understanding of child development and care
  • Ability to work alongside differing personalities
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Self-motivation and accountability
