Phlebotomist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens from patients with professionalism and care, ensuring accurate labeling and processing to support diagnostic testing. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, patient care, and safety protocols to provide exceptional service in a clinical setting.

Duties

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using proper techniques such as venipuncture and aseptic methods
• Collect, label, and process specimens accurately according to established protocols
• Measure vital signs and assess patient condition prior to specimen collection
• Ensure patient comfort and provide excellent patient service throughout procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation of all procedures performed
• Follow laboratory safety standards and infection control practices, including aseptic technique
• Prepare specimens for transportation to the laboratory and assist with specimen processing as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning
• Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff regarding specimen collection procedures

Experience

• Prior laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience preferred
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques, including blood sampling, venipuncture, and specimen processing
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology, and blood sampling procedures
• Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous
• Strong patient service skills with the ability to care for diverse patient populations
• Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is highly desirable but not mandatory; relevant laboratory procedures training will be provided if necessary

Pay: $ $300.00 per day
