World Language Initiative-MT is now hiring language coaches for BELLA Summer Camp 2026, a 5-week English language and literacy camp for Spanish-speaking K-3 youth.

Hours and Schedule

  • 28 hours/week during the camp session: June 22 - July 23, 2026, Mon-Thurs 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Up to 28 hours of onboarding, training and Open House (dates and times TBD week of June 16)

Location: Regular duties and training sessions conducted in person at BELLA Summer Camp located at Hyalite Elementary.

Job DescriptionRole and Responsibilities

  • Teach and manage assigned group of K-3 campers, following curriculum to deliver age-appropriate tasks and activities to promote and encourage English language development.
  • Evaluate students for gains in literacy, language skill and social-emotional awareness using methods learned during training.
  • Display empathetic, effective, and caring classroom management, promoting an engaging and safe learning environment.
  • Provide guidance and modeling to help the assigned group of students stay on task. If student(s) become distracted, work with them to refocus and re-engage. Use brain breaks as needed, following training guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively to manage a classroom and lead a group of campers through program rotations, lunch time, free-time activities, and daily enrichment activities.
  • Arrive in time to set up learning areas.
  • Assist in tidying of the BELLA camp facility spaces, including daily set-up and clean-up, and weekly organization of supplies.
  • Attend all camp training sessions and follow lesson plan guides.
  • Attend the Open House; the date will be communicated one month prior to camp commencement.
  • Communicate with program staff as needed; follow guidelines and protocols to manage and respond to classroom issues.
  • Other activities as deemed necessary for effective and efficient camp operation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Background in education and/or experience in K-3 education and/or programming
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with experience in or commitment to learning from diverse communities
  • Passion for multilingual education; alignment with WLI-MT's mission and vision
  • Basic communication skills in Spanish

Preferred Skills

  • Direct classroom experience in language education and/or ESL
  • Proficiency in Spanish
