A Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the coordination of deliveries to and from job sites, data entry of the tool inventory system, and coordination of repairs of tools with vendors. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises all warehouse Material Handler/Drivers.
- Establishes daily delivery schedules for drivers to and from job sites.
- Picks up materials from warehouse and other locations to deliver to job sites.
- Enters tool transfers into tool inventory system.
- Receives materials, tools and other goods delivered to warehouse.
- Inspects delivery vehicles and notifies supervisor when maintenance and/or repairs are needed.
- Helps in securing, relocating and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment to appropriate storage areas.
- Maintains current inventory of all equipment at storage yard.
- Coordinates tool repair with vendors.
- Keeps materials and tools clean and organized in an orderly fashion.
- Assists with keeping job site clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
- May operate less complicated hand tools and equipment.
- Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.
- Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
- Current Commercial Drivers License and must have own reliable transportation.
- High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.
- Requires at least two years experience in a previous delivery or warehouse position.
- Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, worksite directions, and written instructions.
- Analyze tool and material request for preparation of delivery schedule.
- Operate company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission.
- Operate all equipment including forklift, trenchers, backhoe, and lift trucks in a safe manner.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in CECs Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.
- Operate two handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers.
- Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts, both electric and gasoline powered.

May work inside or outside. Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, in all-weather elements such as rain, heat, cold and snow. This position also requires work at extreme heights, in areas that are under construction, or in restricted areas such as a switchgear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic, in confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.

- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
- Lift 51 pounds, routinely. Constantly move about on the feet.
- Climb ladders of all types.
- Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.
- Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.
- Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
- Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
- Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. This position requires flexible work hours. In order to get a project completed on time, this position is often required to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
- Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
