Overview Gallagher Re are looking to hire an experienced insurance Analytics Data Analyst/Engineer to join our growing analytics team. This opportunity will play a critical role in delivering sophisticated data analysis to support the placement of insurance and reinsurance programs for our clients across various lines of business and territories. Gallagher Re's Data and Analytics team is instrumental in driving innovation and delivering strategic value through data.
Working as our Data Analyst you will be leveraging tools like SQL, DAX, and Power BI to analyse and visualise complex datasets, enabling data-driven decision-making. A significant aspect of the role includes working with bordereaux data, which entails managing and analysing detailed reports of insurance risks, premiums, and claims provided by coverholders or delegated authorities. This requires ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and alignment with reinsurance agreements. By utilising SQL for data extraction, DAX for advanced calculations, and Power BI for creating insightful dashboards, analysts provide actionable insights that help optimise risk management, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making within the reinsurance ecosystem.
This role will be based from our London office with an expectation of being on site two days per week.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with brokers and external clients to understand data requirements and provide advanced data-driven insights to support insurance and reinsurance placements.
Utilise advanced data analysis techniques and visualisation tools to analyse large and complex datasets, providing insights on market trends, claims experience, loss ratios, and other key performance indicators.
Previous experience working with Bordereau and Delegated Authority is essential and required for this role.
Develop and optimise data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory and other Azure tools to ensure efficient data processing and analysis.
Design and implement analytical tools and dashboards to support strategic data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Lead the development and implementation of robust data quality checks and controls to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies in data analysis, visualisation, and data pipelining.
Contribute to the development of bespoke client data models.
About You
Proven experience gained in an Analytics or Data Analyst/Engineering role, with a focus on technical data pipelining and analysis in the insurance or reinsurance industry is essential for this role.
Experience with Bordereau and Delegated Authority is essential for this position.
Experience in data analysis and visualisation tools such as SQL, DAX, Power BI, Python, and Microsoft Excel.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure toolkit, including data storage and analytics services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Analysis Services.
Knowledge of Tabular Modelling/Models would be advantageous.
Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
