New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation, providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, children, and young people. We deliver a diverse range of homelessness projects and temporary housing solutions, helping some of the most complex and disadvantaged groups across Merseyside. Support Practitioner - Recovery Services Have you had experience working as a support worker? Do you hold the necessary skills to empower, coach and inspire people to move forward positively with their lives? If you do, then we have a fantastic opportunity for a Support Practitioner to join our Harmony Project team based from our head office in Liverpool. You will be supporting residents living independently within our Harmony Project — a recovery-focused service for individuals who are abstinent and committed to maintaining their recovery journey. Support is delivered via a trauma-aware, strengths-based programme of empowerment and confidence-building; enabling residents to grow, develop and achieve their personal goals within a safe and supportive environment, whilst working towards greater independence and sustained recovery. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and have access to their own vehicle. Key Responsibilities of a Support Practitioner - Recovery Services To provide advice, guidance and structured support to individuals who are in recovery and committed to abstinence. To provide daytime visits, encompassing holistic support, tenancy sustainment and wellbeing support to clients within New Start’s Harmony Project. To operate within the remit of New Start’s service specification, delivery model and contractual obligations. To support residents to maintain abstinence and engage positively with recovery-focused services and networks. To ensure all new clients to the service receive a full and comprehensive induction of the property and the support service. To devise and implement a Service Plan with the Service User to identify recovery goals, wellbeing needs and steps toward independence. To support clients to develop life skills that promote stability, resilience and long-term recovery. To support clients to resolve debt issues. To support clients to access voluntary work, training and work-based learning opportunities that will assist them with securing future employment. To support clients with rebuilding positive family and social relationships where appropriate. To create, manage and maintain Service User files, ensuring documentation is completed to the highest standards and within agreed timescales. To initiate and carry out regular case reviews ensuring clients remain on track to achieve their recovery and independence goals.
