Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and home care environments. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as Alzheimer's or memory care. The CNA will be responsible for supporting clinical staff by assisting with daily patient needs and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or behavioral health needs, including memory care techniques.
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures following aseptic techniques.
- Support patients in rehabilitation or post-acute settings by helping with mobility exercises and physical therapy routines.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in various environments such as ICU, emergency rooms, surgical units, or outpatient clinics.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient care activities to ensure continuity of care.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (Level I Trauma Center preferred), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health agencies.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in specialized areas such as ICU, PICU, hospice care, behavioral health, or infectious disease care is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations including children (experience with pediatrics preferred), seniors requiring geriatrics or memory care services, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient service and caregiving support.
- Ability to adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
