Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Operation and Safety Assistant, the Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of on-site operations throughout the year. Depending on the season, this position supports team supervision, facility safety, staff training, seasonal preparation, and emergency management.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in an operational environment that evolves with the seasons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support field teams across departments and seasons
  • Ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with established procedures
  • Assist in the supervision of staff (ski patrol, lifts, water park, slides, maintenance, etc.)
  • Contribute to the maintenance, improvement, and seasonal preparation of facilities and equipment
  • Apply and enforce occupational health and safety standards
  • Act as a resource person or trainer when required
  • Participate in incident management, emergency response, and risk prevention

Seasonal Responsibilities

Winter – Mountain Operations

  • Support ski patrol operations: scheduling, training, task follow-ups, and installations
  • Ensure safety at all times and anticipate conditions requiring operational adjustments
  • Participate in accident follow-ups and ensure high-quality first aid response
  • Support chairlift operations, including:
    • Training follow-ups (ASSQ and internal)
    • Enforcement of safety procedures
    • Ensuring proper operation of equipment and work areas
  • Act as a decision-maker during non-routine situations (evacuations, breakdowns, incidents)

Fall – Season Preparation

  • Ensure documentation is up to date, accessible, and properly maintained
  • Participate in the review of emergency procedures and training follow-ups
  • Learn and apply procedures related to lift breakdowns and evacuation scenarios
  • Assist in preparing the clinic, IT access, and operational documents (GRAM, resort maps)
  • Conduct inventories and support the installation of fixed equipment and lifts

Summer – Water Park & Summer Operations

  • Support the supervision of lifeguard teams
  • Ensure operational continuity and smooth daily operations
  • Participate in initial and ongoing staff training
  • Ensure incident follow-ups, prevention measures, and risk management
  • Support water quality operations, including:
    • Logbook monitoring
    • Pool calibration
    • Application of procedures and quality standards

Spring – Transition & Improvement

  • Participate in planning operational improvements (filtration, piping, equipment, products)
  • Contribute to guest safety and emergency procedures
  • Conduct equipment inventories and preparation
  • Participate in training of aquatic teams
  • Ensure proper signage and clear communication of important guest information

Qualifications

  • High school diploma completed or in progress
  • Excellent physical condition and strong interest in outdoor work
  • Leadership skills, sense of responsibility, and initiative
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
