What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Supervising and safely performing commissioning activities to deliver the Strategic Weapon System for the UK's next generation of Ballistic Nuclear Submarine platforms.
  • Exemplifying outstanding HS&E behaviours.
  • Overseeing and advising on the installation of Strategic Weapon System equipment.
  • Producing and reviewing specific test documentation.
  • Testing, commissioning, operating, and conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on strategic weapon system equipment.
  • Recording test results and maintaining detailed logs of equipment performance.
  • Representing the company at training events and technical discussions throughout the UK and at Prime Contractor facilities in the USA.
  • Being available for shift work and willing to spend time at sea during Contractor’s Sea Trials, with appropriate notice and remuneration.
Your Skills and Experiences:
  • HNC or equivalent in an Electrical discipline, or comparable experience in an Electrical engineering role (not essential for the Commissioning Engineer position).
  • Previous test and commissioning experience with electrical and/or electronic systems (essential for Senior Position; desirable for Commissioning Engineer).
  • Familiarity with installation and testing of Fibre Optic interfaces is advantageous.
  • Awareness of or experience with authorised documentation or test standards.
  • Planning or working towards professional registration – further personal development options available when eligibility criteria are met.
  • Previous experience in electrical installations.
