We are seeking an organized and efficient Receiving Clerk for our New York City, New York facility. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accurate logging, inspection, and distribution of materials within our logistics network. Your attention to detail will be paramount in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting smooth warehouse operations. This position is vital for ensuring that all incoming stock is accounted for and processed correctly, contributing directly to our supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments.
- Verify delivery contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Document all received goods accurately in the inventory system.
- Identify and report any damages, discrepancies, or shortages.
- Route received materials to appropriate departments or storage locations.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments.
- Must be able to handle lifting up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in data entry and inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Physical ability to lift and move goods, and stand for extended periods.
