We are hiring energetic and reliable Picker/Packers to join our busy warehouse facility in Des Moines, Iowa. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately picking customer orders and preparing them for shipment. This involves navigating the warehouse, identifying items using scanning technology, and carefully packing them to ensure they arrive safely at their destination. Our operations are at the heart of efficient logistics, and your contribution is vital. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well under pressure, and has a strong commitment to maintaining accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with inventory control and shipping departments to ensure order fulfillment targets are met. This role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are expected to follow safety regulations rigorously, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Locate items within the warehouse efficiently.
- Inspect picked items for damage or defects.
- Pack orders securely and correctly, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages for shipment.
- Meet individual and team productivity goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or issues to a supervisor.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a picker/packer or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capability to perform frequent lifting (up to 40 lbs) and stand for long durations.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic logistics.
- Commitment to a safe working environment and correct PPE usage.
