Our rapidly expanding logistics company in Dallas, Texas, is looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring that orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched to our valued customers on time. This role involves coordinating with the warehouse team, verifying shipment details, preparing shipping documentation, and coordinating with freight carriers. We pride ourselves on our efficient operations and our commitment to employee safety. The successful candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and have a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your responsibilities will include preparing packages for shipment, selecting appropriate shipping methods, generating shipping labels, and confirming shipment details. A strong understanding of shipping regulations and carrier requirements is beneficial. We maintain a strong focus on workplace safety, requiring strict adherence to all safety protocols and the mandatory use of appropriate PPE. This position involves frequent lifting and moving of packages, so physical dexterity and stamina are important. Join our team and play a key role in our logistics success!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and pack outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify order details against shipping labels and documentation.
- Select appropriate shipping methods and carriers based on destination and urgency.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Coordinate with carriers for package pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update tracking information in the WMS.
- Conduct quality checks on packed orders before dispatch.
- Ensure the shipping area is organized and well-maintained.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with loading trucks when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping or warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of logistics processes and best practices.
- Understanding of and commitment to workplace safety and PPE usage.
