We are looking for a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our vibrant logistics team in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse. Your work will directly impact our operational efficiency and ensure the timely movement of goods throughout our facility. Safety is our top priority, and adherence to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques, is mandatory. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of warehouse logistics, and a commitment to maintaining an organized and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently in a busy warehouse setting.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas, maintaining accurate inventory placement.
- Stack and organize inventory according to established procedures.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and seek assistance for heavy or awkward loads.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to meet daily operational targets.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Support the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Familiarity with different types of forklifts and their operation.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong commitment to safety, including correct PPE usage and safe lifting.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
