Join our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon, as a Forklift Operator. We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious individual to operate forklifts and perform various material handling tasks within our warehouse facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and safe movement of goods, contributing to the smooth flow of our supply chain operations. This role demands attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to upholding all safety standards, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe lifting practices. As a Forklift Operator, you will be integral to our daily operations, supporting both inbound and outbound logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Transport products and materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Ensure all loading and unloading procedures are carried out according to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and seek assistance when necessary for heavy items.
- Collaborate with team members to meet operational goals and deadlines.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of warehouse logistics.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including the use of PPE and safe lifting.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
