Senior Calibration Technician – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm

Location: Greater St. Louis Area

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Calibration Technician for our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting on process instrumentation that supports critical production and utility equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical abilities, be highly reliable, and have the capacity to mentor junior technicians.

What You'll Do

  • Perform instrument calibrations, pre-commissioning checks, and troubleshoot issues related to pressure, flow, temperature, pH, level, conductivity, and weight.
  • Execute single-point and loop calibrations utilizing multimeters, frequency calibrators, pressure/flow calibrators, digital indicators, and RTD tools.
  • Diagnose and repair instrumentation and electrical components, ensuring minimal downtime; conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to optimize equipment performance.
  • Install, upgrade, or modify instrumentation to enhance system capabilities and meet evolving needs.
  • Maintain meticulous calibration records, adhering to SOPs, safety procedures, and cGMP requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance and training to junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Need

  • Associate degree in Applied Science / Instrumentation, or possess equivalent technical experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on instrumentation/calibration experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of electrical theory.
  • Hands-on experience with multimeters, frequency calibrators, and flow meters.
  • Familiarity with LOTO and OSHA safety practices, with a working knowledge of regulated environments such as FDA/cGMP preferred; help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs; the role involves kneeling, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders.
  • Ability to sustain standing or sitting positions for extended durations.
  • The work environment may include exposure to chemicals, moving equipment, noise, and varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
  • Adherence to required PPE protocols is essential, with occasional requirements to work off-shifts, weekends, or holidays.
