Job Description

Nevada Best PCA is a non-medical, in-home personal care agency serving elderly and disabled clients through Medicaid-funded services. We are currently seeking an experienced Intake & Authorization Specialist to join our growing team.

This is a key office position that requires strong healthcare experience, excellent computer skills, attention to detail, and outstanding customer service. This role is not entry-level.

Position Overview

The Intake & Authorization Specialist is responsible for managing new client intakes, Medicaid authorizations, client files, and ongoing communication with caseworkers, clients, and internal staff. This position requires the ability to work independently, stay highly organized, and handle sensitive healthcare information accurately.

We are looking for reliable, long-term candidates who want to grow with the company. There is strong potential for advancement for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new client intakes and maintain complete, accurate client files
  • Handle Medicaid authorizations, renewals, and follow-ups
  • Communicate with Medicaid, caseworkers, and other healthcare entities
  • Prepare and write professional letters, emails, and documentation
  • Track authorizations, services, and deadlines using spreadsheets and systems
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and families
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks without constant supervision

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

Only candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

  • Minimum 2+ years experience in a medical or healthcare office
  • Experience with Medicaid, authorizations, or healthcare documentation
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, email)
  • Fast and accurate typing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Professional customer service experience
  • Quick learner with a strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in home care, PCA, home health, or similar healthcare agencies
  • Familiarity with Medicaid portals and systems
  • Experience working with authorizations, intake, or case management
