CNC Laser Operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Laser Operator for our AMADA Ensis 3kW Laser. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating the laser to fabricate high-quality components from various materials. Experience with SolidWorks/SheetWorks is a plus.

Shift: Monday-Friday 5:30am-2:00pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Fabricate and develop metal materials according to work orders and specifications
• Responsible for setting up and maintaining laser cutting equipment and ensuring safe and effective machine operation
• Operate laser to cut, shape, and etch various metals (steel, aluminum, etc.) according to blueprints, work orders, and job specifications
• Set up, calibrate, and load materials in the laser cutting machine, ensuring settings are optimized for each job
• Operate forklifts for material handling when necessary, ensuring safe transport of materials within the facility
• Manage material inventory, verify material types, and ensure correct material is loaded for each job
• Safely handle and dispose of scrap metal
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Utilize hand tools and CNC machinery for assembly and fabrication tasks as needed
• Use basic math skills to measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately
• Collaborate with team members to assemble components and ensure quality control throughout the production process
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company safety standards

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience with operating a fiber laser and understanding of CNC technology, AMADA experience is a plus
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication preferred
• Knowledge of 4iBlank, SolidWorks/SheetWorks preferred
• Mechanical knowledge with experience in using hand tools and fabricating components
• Familiarity with lathe operations and stamping press machinery is a plus
• Strong basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Forklift experience or certification not required but preferred

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
