Job Overview:

Weitron is seeking to hire a full-time Quality Control Lab Technician for our Newark, DE facility. The Lab Technician will be responsible for daily testing of raw materials and finished Weitron products and for keeping accurate records of all testing. In addition, the Lab Technician will routinely calibrate all measuring equipment in the production area and in the lab. Must be capable of using a computer, using lab equipment, and standing and walking in a laboratory and warehouse environment.

Job Duties:

· Performs daily routine testing of raw materials such as bulk gas and empty cans/cylinders

· Performs daily routine testing of finished products sampled off the production line

· Collects samples of refrigerant gas, and uses GC's in lab to test composition, purity, and NCG of injected samples

· Uses coulometric titrators to test moisture content in samples of gas

· Lifts cans and cylinders onto scales to verify weights

· Measures torque on cylinders, diameters on caps, and other quality-related metrics

· Verifies and calibrates floor scales, line scales, lab scales, GC methods, torque wrenches, standard weights, and other equipment on a routine basis

· Documents all test results using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and files printed reports into organized records

· Communicates with supervisor to report any nonconforming or outlier test results for immediate containment or corrective action

· Monitors supply levels in lab, and reports need for purchases of additional lab supplies or equipment in a timely manner

· Plus: Diagnoses QC issues with customer RMA cans and cylinders, and writes detailed 8D reports to identify root cause.

Skill and Qualifications:

The following are recommended for all applicants:

· Degree Level: Bachelor's

· Experienced using a computer to record data and create reports

· Proficient with data entry and Microsoft Excel

· Communication skills and commitment to teamwork with other lab technician(s) and supervisors. Must be able to report urgent quality issues to supervisors in a timely manner

· Self-starter, capable of proactively taking on new tasks and working on issues of high urgency when in a production environment

· Some experience with root-cause investigation and documentation, such as 8D or A3

· Analytical and problem-solving skills when diagnosing and solving problems with defective product, malfunctioning equipment, etc.

· Flexibility in assigned tasks, must be willing to wear many hats in certain production situations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $24.90 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
