Estimator (Glass)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator (Glass) to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong background in construction estimating, project management, and cost control, with a focus on glass and glazing projects. The Estimator (Glass) will play a critical role in securing new business and ensuring profitability through precise pricing and contract management.

Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for glass and glazing projects using Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to determine scope of work and resource requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to negotiate pricing and terms effectively.
• Develop comprehensive bid proposals that include material costs, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Monitor project budgets and perform cost control analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the review of construction contracts to ensure scope alignment and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with construction management and site teams to gather on-the-ground insights for accurate estimations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials pricing, and construction site practices related to glass installation.
• Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that align with client expectations and company profitability goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on glass or glazing projects.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and construction estimating software tools.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and clients.
• Knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles.
• Familiarity with contracts, cost control strategies, and pricing methodologies within the construction industry.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate quantity takeoffs and budgeting.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates confidently.
• Construction site experience is preferred to understand real-world project challenges.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
