Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our ABA Therapy Clinic, providing services to clients on the Autism Spectrum. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive therapy services to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing personalized care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal functional independence and quality of life. The Occupational Therapist will work in various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and schools. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical skills, compassion, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs using current physiology knowledge and medical terminology.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans focused on assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), discharge planning, and case management.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions for patients with diverse conditions including autism spectrum disorder, post-acute care needs, ICU recovery, geriatrics, pediatrics, and occupational health.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist patients in improving motor skills, cognitive function, and overall independence through tailored therapy techniques.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapy goals and strategies for continued progress at home or in community settings.
  • Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure cohesive treatment approaches and optimal patient outcomes.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with people with autism, disabilities, or in early intervention programs is highly desirable.
  • Experience in acute care settings such as ICU or inpatient units is preferred.
  • Background in skilled nursing facilities or post-acute care environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with outpatient clinics, home health services, or school-based therapy enhances candidacy.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and case management principles is essential for effective practice.
  • Previous roles involving patient care across diverse populations—including geriatrics and pediatrics—are highly valued.
