In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative duties that ensure smooth operations within outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. Your expertise in various medical procedures, patient interactions, and administrative support will help create a welcoming environment for patients and a productive workspace for staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure accurate documentation of medical histories and current concerns
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining steps clearly and ensuring comfort throughout the process
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, wound care, procedures, when needed
  • Document patient interactions accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems using proper medical terminology and ICD coding standards
  • Manage administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, processing insurance forms, and coordinating referrals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments with familiarity in Colorectal, gastroenterology, internal medicine, or surgical settings
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to assist effectively across diverse specialties including emergency medicine and medical-surgical unit.
  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems for accurate documentation; familiarity with ICD coding is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with intake procedures, and supporting diagnostic tests like X-ray imaging
  • Strong communication skills to provide excellent patient service while collaborating seamlessly with healthcare teams in outpatient or inpatient settings
  • Experience working within hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is preferred; clinic experience in internal medicine or geriatrics is also valued
