Echocardiography Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option UCHealth offers a structured way for you to grow your skills, responsibilities, and pay in this position. Under supervision, performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to diagnose and treat cardiac and/or vascular conditions in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures with assistance from clinical preceptor (registered sonographer). Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Administering ultrasound enhancing agents within scope of practice. Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites. Informs patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding. Prepares equipment and supplies. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Seeks assistance related to patient condition changes in status. High School diploma or GED and actively enrolled or graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology OR Associate's degree in allied health OR a Bachelor's degree in any area. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. Provides top of scope practice in direct patient care to provide various ultrasound procedures Contributes to secure safety and quality at the point of care Sonographer: Reviews patient history, physician's orders and does scheduling. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Employees are our number one asset.
