GENERAL FUNCTION : The Summer Camp Coordinator assists the Childcare Director in the development and programming of summer camp for families of the North Penn community. This position may involve early morning, evening and weekend responsibilities.

This job is performed to standard when all work is completed accurately and on time, with minimal supervision. Part Time/Non-Exempt.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires Associate's degree in education, human services or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in childcare, education, human services field
  • Knowledgeable about office processes and procedures, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with integrity, discretion, attention to detail, and a professional approach
  • Effective Communication; written, oral and through presentations
  • Experience in the management of staff, programs, resources, budget responsibilities, scheduling, facilities and equipment
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of DHS childcare regulations
  • Must be certified in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, AED
  • Must have strong collaborative work ethic
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing of the enrollment registration process under the guidance of department director
  • Maintain and update all program registrations for all campers
  • Ensure all emergency contact, registration, and camper information is up to date and complete before the 1st day of summer camp for each camper
  • Maintain DHS regulated records on staff, children and the programs
  • Responsible for hiring, training and scheduling all summer camp staff under guidance of director and ensure all staff meet DHS regulation requirements before 1st day of summer camp.
  • Plan and implement camp curriculum for all weeks of summer camp
  • Ensure all supplies for camp are ordered and distributed to all camp locations before start of camp
  • Ensure all camp locations meet DHS regulations and have necessary and required items on site per DHS regulations such as First aid, safety supplies, emergency contact books, phones, med box, and all other items as required
  • Ability to process, understand and respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Coordinates staff office budget, stationery orders and office supplies
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the North Penn YMCA

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform adequately the physical activities as related to job responsibilities and ensuring the safety of all children and staff
  • Ability to function under inside and outside environmental conditions
  • Ability to lift or carry up to thirty (30) pounds
  • Ability to perform the following sensory and communicative activities adequately: hearing and seeing; reading, writing, speaking English fluently

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
