Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient cardiology team. This role involves providing comprehensive cardiac care, performing diagnostic evaluations, and supporting patient management in a fast-paced clinical setting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with EMR systems, critical care, and outpatient cardiology procedures, contributing to high-quality patient outcomes and advancing clinical research initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team at a leading healthcare facility committed to excellence in cardiovascular health.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and vital signs documentation using advanced EMR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations including cardiac catheterization, catheterization procedures, and interpretation of medical imaging relevant to cardiology.
  • Manage acute pain and airway issues, utilizing skills in airway management and ventilator support when necessary.
  • Administer injections, medications, and IV infusions following aseptic techniques while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient education on cardiovascular health, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and post-procedure care.
  • Assist with complex procedures such as cardiac catheterization and participate in outpatient clinic visits for primary care and specialized cardiology services.
  • Support clinical research activities including data collection, research trials, and compliance with NCQA standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, post-acute care, hospice & palliative medicine, and home care services.
  • Triage patients in urgent care or emergency room settings as needed, utilizing critical care experience to prioritize treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper coding using CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for billing and documentation purposes.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license with certification in cardiology preferred.
  • Proven experience in outpatient cardiology settings with familiarity in hospital medicine, ICU experience, or Level I/II trauma center work is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and medical terminology related to cardiology.
  • Experience administering injections, performing physical examinations, and managing complex cardiac cases including catheterization procedures.
  • Skills in data management for clinical trials or research projects; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) essential.
  • Ability to work independently within outpatient clinics while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $140, $160,000.00 per year
