Personal Care Aide

Job Summary
As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. Your compassionate support will empower clients to maintain their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort. You'll engage with clients in various settings, including home care, assisted living, and group homes, providing essential services that promote dignity and well-being.

What you'll do

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' conditions to ensure optimal health.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in client living spaces to promote a safe environment.
• Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
• Support clients with mobility needs using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to individual client needs.

Experience

• Previous experience in caregiving or personal care roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or memory care is highly valued.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
• Understanding of home health practices, hospice care, and long-term care environments is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client mobility needs.
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes effectively.
