Quality Technician – Second Shift

Job Overview

Sterling Beverage is seeking a Quality Technician to support second shift production at our beverage canning facility in Buffalo, NY. This role is ideal for someone currently enrolled in a food science, quality, or manufacturing-related program, or a candidate with prior quality or production experience who is looking to grow into a Quality Management Role

This is a hands-on, production-facing position with meaningful responsibility, exposure to food safety systems, and clear long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process quality checks on canned beverages (fill weights, seams, carbonation, pH, Brix, visual inspection)
• Conduct and document can seam inspections
• Monitor and record CCPs and PCPs per HACCP and food safety plans
• Verify sanitation, allergen controls, and GMP compliance
• Collect product samples and maintain quality records
• Communicate quality issues to production staff and assist with corrective actions
• Support investigations, audits, and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma of college degree
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
• Ability to work independently on second shift

Preferred (not required):

• Enrollment in or completion of a Food Science, Food Safety, Quality, or Manufacturing-related program
• 1+ year experience in food, beverage, or manufacturing quality
• Familiarity with HACCP, SQF, or FDA food safety requirements
• Beverage or canning experience (seam inspection a plus)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Comfortable working in a production environment with moving equipment

Pay: $ $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
