Turf & Grounds Maintenance
- Assist in planning and executing daily golf course setup, including mowing, raking, rolling, and cup-changing.
- Monitor turfgrass health and apply corrective measures for disease, pests, drought, or stress.
- Oversee aerification, topdressing, verticutting, and other cultural practices.
- Maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and practice facilities to club standards.
Agronomy & Environmental Management
- Assist in developing and implementing annual agronomic plans.
- Monitor soil conditions, moisture levels, and fertility requirements.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and plant growth regulators in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Keep accurate chemical application records and ensure proper storage/handling of materials.
- Support sustainable and environmentally responsible maintenance practices.
Staff Leadership & Training
- Assign daily tasks to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
- Train staff on safe equipment operation and best maintenance practices.
- Help with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation of team members.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Inspect equipment daily for safety and performance.
- Maintain clean, organized maintenance facilities and storage areas.
Irrigation System Oversight
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation system components including heads, valves, and controllers.
- Maintain irrigation logs and ensure proper coverage and water efficiency.
- Manage irrigation scheduling, repair, and monitoring to ensure efficient water use.
Course Improvement & Projects
- Assist with construction, renovation, and landscaping projects.
- Interpret course blueprints, drainage maps, and irrigation layouts.
- Ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently to specification.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety standards and ensure staff use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to chemical use, water management, and worker safety.
Communication & Member Relations
- Work closely with the Superintendent to communicate course conditions and maintenance plans.
- Address member concerns professionally and maintain strong relationships with club staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or certification in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field (preferred).
- Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass diseases, irrigation systems, and maintenance equipment.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and in varying weather conditions.
Pay: $48, $52,000.00 per year
