Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is an emerging coffee franchise with locations across the United States. We are searching for an experienced Store Manager for our store location. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated person to join our Ohana (family).
Established in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii takes pride in sharing and bringing the Aloha Spirit to the Grand Strand. Our premium coffee comes from using the best beans and the right roasting formula that brings out peak flavor. We handcraft each cup with care. Join us in sharing our aloha spirit This is a locally owned store.
The Manager assumes full responsibility for their location's growth, profitable operation and the preservation of our culture, mission statement, and values. The Manager is the leader of the store Ohana and maintains connections with the team, the customers, and the community by embracing and displaying the Aloha Spirit.
In addition to working scheduled shifts and overseeing the growth of the store, the Manager is expected to coach, train, perform admin duties, and oversee operations, including schedule management and inventory oversight. The Manager reports directly to the Store Owner.
We are offering a developmental path for a career minded individual; a Store Manager has the opportunity to further develop into a General Manager as we open additional locations.
The qualified individual must have consistent previous Manager experience in a retail food environment.
Starting salary depends on previous experience.
Full job description
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Must become proficient in all store duties and skill sets
- Maintains excellent wait times, cleanliness, and customer interactions
- Provides regular feedback to each team member on strengths and areas of growth through training, coaching, and encouragement
- Works with the ohana team needs and availability to create a weekly shift schedule, maintaining budgeted cost of labor
- Tracks and orders necessary inventory, small wares, parts, and equipment, while maintaining a low cost of goods sold through eliminating waste and accurate counting
- Ensures appropriate cash handling, deposits, and change for the register
- Works in a self-sufficient manner and involves the owner, when the situation requires.
- Ensure crew is knowledgeable and meeting all health and safety requirements.
- Is always developing and identifying new leaders to step into future roles.
- Promptly implements and communicates directives from upper management
- Thoughtfully delegates tasks to the ohana team to facilitate efficiency and appropriate development
- Assists ownership with Human Resource tasks including evaluating new candidates, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions related to baristas and back of house staff.
- Responsible for promotional idea generation and execution.
- Responsible for event generation, community outreach and business development within the community with the intent and purpose of growing sales.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Can work 6 days a week, any shift, any time of day, up to 50 hours per week
- Can create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers
- Can work carefully and quickly with hot water and coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products
- Can lift up to 50lbs
- Can stand comfortably for hours at a time
- Can climb a ladder and use a stepladder
- Can stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean in the stand
- Can quickly and cleanly operate any position in the store during peak hours
- Has critical thinking skills, including the ability to solve problems
- Has strong communication skills and will communicate to the owners as needed, often daily
- Respects company values and is committed to working within franchise and owner guidelines.
- Can maintain awareness of the shifts operations while working a position
- Can assertively and graciously confront their team to address operational or procedural issues
- Can adapt to problems and implement solutions during stressful situations
- Effectively manages multiple projects and deadlines
- Can effectively lead and direct multiple personality types under pressure
- Has proven leadership abilities in a fast-paced environment with 15+ team members
- Proficient with the use of technology
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must have and keep a valid drivers license
