Position Summary:

As a Marketing Specialist, you will support the agency's overall marketing strategy by managing digital platforms, creating/designing engaging content, and assisting with both online and traditional marketing initiatives.  You will maintain the agency's websites, blogs, and social media presence, develop marketing materials, monitor analytics, and collaborate across departments to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Social Media Management

  • Manage agency social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. 
  • Develop and implement a holistic social media strategy to increase reach and engagement with current and prospective clients.
  • Develop and implement standardized social media processes and guidelines to ensure alignment with the agency's overall brand and marketing goals.
  • Create and maintain an editorial content calendar to ensure timely and accurate posts that align with the agency's marketing goals.
  • Create and optimize paid social media ads that align with the agency's overall brand and marketing goals.
  • Develop monthly reporting data and analytics to understand how social media posts and advertising contribute to the agency's digital goals and determine next steps for overall social media presence.

 Website Management 

  • Manage agency websites using appropriate web design platforms.
  • Optimize website content, local pages, and local business listings to keep agency content high-ranking and relevant for target client groups.
  • Monitor and maintain search engine optimization (SEO) parameters to ensure optimized searchability of agency sites, pages, and listings.
  • Create and maintain appropriate landing pages for digital advertising campaigns.
  • Identify, research, and resolve website bugs/issues with the appropriate support team. 
  • Develop monthly reporting data and analytics to understand the reach, frequency, and engagement metrics of agency websites.

 Content Creation

  • Research, create, and edit content for social media, websites, newsletters, client mailings, podcasts, blog posts, videos, and more.
  • Ensure a clear and consistent brand voice for all marketing content. 

 Collaboration 

  • Work with the Director of Marketing on annual marketing plans, goals, strategies, campaigns, etc.
  • Collaborate with other agency employees and departments on various social media, blog, podcast, video, and newsletter content to ensure the content aligns with agency marketing goals and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with agency employees to create custom social media posts that align with their goals for their personal LinkedIn profiles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, or another related field, or an equivalent amount of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing company social media profiles (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn).
  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn paid advertising.  Experience running Google Ad campaigns is a plus.
  • Experience managing and optimizing websites.
  • Experience with Google Analytics.
  • Solid understanding of content development and brand storytelling. 
  • Fluency with search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and keyword research.  Experience with SEMRush is a plus.
  • Experience with design platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • The ability to travel between different office locations as needed.
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel), web-based computer applications, social media platforms, web content management tools, graphic design software, video editing software, and other agency management systems.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects or tasks, meet established deadlines, and change priorities as business needs require.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, but also independently with minimal daily supervision.

Location & Flexible Work Options:

  • This position can be located in our Waverly, Cedar Rapids, or West Des Moines office, so we welcome candidates interested in any of those locations.  It also includes the opportunity for a hybrid or remote work arrangement upon successful completion of training.
