Premier AV-rated AmLaw 500 "Go To" law firm has for litigation in California and Nevada. We represent domestic and international businesses, insurers, professionals and individuals in litigated, non-litigated, transactional, and employment matters. We have an opening for a Senior Paralegal in our Irvine office. We are looking for a paralegal who is experienced, motivated, reliable and can assume responsibility working as an integral part of a collaborative team as well as independently.
The Irvine office operates with a flexible work model, allowing employees to work in-office, remotely, or in hybrid schedules. This is a great opportunity to work with top attorneys, gaining hands-on experience in litigation, case management, and legal research. You will work alongside dedicated legal professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- ABA Paralegal Certificate
- 10+ years of experience in defense litigation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skills Required:
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities, with a detail-oriented and deadline-driven approach
- Strong written and oral communication skills required, including the ability to professionally communicate with employees across the firm
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, meet and track a variety of internal and external deadlines
- Must be able to work well under time constraints, in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work independently
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to manage all phases of litigation including trial preparation and document management.
- Assist with discovery:Drafting written discovery, responses, and objections. Conducting document reviews. Assisting with document production. Producing privilege logs. Engage in fact development and obtaining medical and billing records. Preparing meet and confer letters. Preparing medical chronologies and billing summaries. Preparing deposition summaries. Helping clients with deposition preparation. Attending meetings and depositions with the attorney and client.
- Assist with Trial: Preparing the trial notebook containing all of the key information to help keep the attorney organized at trial. Assisting in preparation of exhibit lists and witness lists, and other trial documents as needed. Organize and assemble exhibit notebooks and blow-ups, as necessary. Gather and organize deposition transcripts. Assisting attorneys with all phases of trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
Provide any and all other case related support for managing attorney as directed. Perform a number of other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included within this position description, but which are consistent with the general level of the job and the responsibilities described.
