POSITION SUMMARY:
The Controller provides support to the CFO and corporate finance team focusing on accounting, taxes, and risk management. The position develops corporate policy while supporting venue financial activities, such as protecting assets by planning and completing financial audits/reviews, identifying inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective internal controls, recommending improvements, performing high-level business analysis, as well as interviewing and training finance staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Build, manage, and supervise the accounting team at the corporate office and provide support to all company managed sport facilities
- Focus on improving processes, operations and efficiencies in order to maximize profitability and position the companies for continued aggressive growth
- Serve as a collaborative business partner to all departments by providing financial counsel and perspective in helping managers identify potential weak areas, analyze revenue and expenses, and resolve problems that impact the overall performance of the companies
- Set up and onboard the accounting department in all new company managed sports facilities
- Manage the overall closing process on a monthly basis; ensure books are closed accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare consolidated financial statements, pro forma reports, and dashboards for review and distribution to management and clients
- Perform financial analysis and investigate variances on financial statements
- Ensure that all cash is deposited and accounted for in a timely manner; manage all
