Sous Chef

Overview:

The City Grocery Restaurant Group is seeking talented and experienced Sous Chefs to join our team in historic Oxford, MS. The ideal candidate will assist the Chef de Cuisine in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. We are looking for individuals who want to grow professionally by being mentored in a diverse, professional work environment. Experience is required. Professional resumes are accepted. References are a plus.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to plan and create innovative menus
• Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
• Assist in managing inventory control and ordering supplies
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
• Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen management

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience in a leadership role within a culinary department

• Experience in the creation of menu and/or special items

• Strong background in kitchen operations, food production, and inventory control
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and regulations (preferably Servsafe certified)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in restaurant and/or kitchen management
